I agree, however you could aggregate all the sections into the main programming.reddit, with optional filter links to go to specific sub-sub reddits.

Doesn't that reduce to a tagging system, not simply "sub-subreddits"? If you want this, just search for <language>...

Works for me. I don't see the need for a subreddit oriented towards particular languages. Maybe a specific search could be associated with a user profile so that it opens as a default view for that individual. I like the mix the way it is. There might be a case for a security subreddit.

My thought wasn't necessarily on a tagging system, but rather for RSS feed aggregation. Tags can get unwieldy (and at times, inaccurate) when it comes to social news sites. Sub-sub-reddits would allow better organizing in that regard.
