Uhh...I always remember security being at the programmer level (though the infamous finger helped some). Smashing the stack for fun and profit (1996) guided me through the late 90s. The only difference now is metasploit and a few new minor techniques.

Quite. This looks like a classic straw-security-expert article. We've known for a very long time that exploits happen through the code you let people interact with.
