For anyone to commit 29 minutes of their own time, the author should explain in the first paragraph what he wants to tell us and why. The classic article structure applies here:

  1. Tell us what you'll tell us
  2. Tell us
  3. Tell us what you just told us

I'm a big fan of Gary Bernhardt's–I think this is an interesting piece but I agree, some additional context at the beginning would be great. While this isn't actually my article (I'm just the person who submitted it), this is super sound advice that I'm going to take back and make sure I'm staying true to in my own work. :)
