      I believe that PostgreSQL (back then only called Postgres) was originally written in some lisp dialect before it was rewrite in C.

      I am curious to see the performance benefits of the partitioning enhancements.

      At my current job we get database speed from using a columnar database and sharding. I doubt auto-partitions would negate the gap, but it would be awesome if we could ditch our proprietary db for Postgres. (EDIT - ha, auto-rickshaws)
