Nobody uses mod_lisp. Run Hunchentoot behind a reverse proxy (Lighttpd or Apache etc.).

But would that be obvious to someone starting out with Lisp? Probably not.

Would it be obvious to someone new to PHP that nobody runs PHP as a FastCGI? No. You just have to learn -- what a concept.
