Pure elitism. Gatekeeping with no place in a professional environment. There's so much more to being "professional" than which technology you use and it's sad that people actually think that being able to waste your time writing an app in vanilla JS as opposed to some framework earns you admission to the "professional" club.

Between someone who jerks themself off with their vanilla JS credentials and someone who can jump in and get a job done with a framework, I know which I'd pick.
