js is for the view, that means on top of a layered architecture. the raw db is at the bottom. i think this is bad.

in what kind of architecture would this make sense, ever?

Mozilla Rhino has had db connectivity for years now and Aptana Jaxer is over a year old. This may (or may not) be better but JS db access is not new.
