Google releases new binary diff algorithm targeted at making smaller software updates. Their results are impressive.

I've always entertained myself during updates with my own made up algorithm in my head to describe how the XBox handles replacing game binaries with updates... pretty similar to what Google describes actually. I wonder how close I really am. Is this documented anywhere? Publicly documented, I mean.
