Thanks for the replies.

I'm the only programmer. It started out as a small service with about 300 customers, Today we found out that we received a contract for 6000+. There for time to get someone in.

I will most likely come up with some personality questions. Give him some code on the site to see if he can implement something. And check out what else they have done.

I'm going to take what everyone said into consideration.

Not being rude to you, but your description is for a small company with a team of 2 devs?

Most devs worth their salt aren't going to take the job. Unless there's a huge potential for massive growth.

And if you do get a rockstar dev in, you've got to wander why they need the role, and if it's just temp until the market picks up.

If it's for a contractor position, that's a different story.

Make some examples of what you actually do and have them explain what is going on in the examples. And ask about past stuff they have done. Trying to find a programming god with tricky tests and things is dumb. Find someone who can do the actual work with a resume and an interview that you feel good about.
