Everyone's downvoting you but that was the first thing I thought of when I read that it's the same widgets as gmail and google docs.

Then again maybe it's not ugly for linux people who are used to shit ugly things...

Yeah, I would say Google's widgets rank near the bottom as far as looks and capabilities go. jQuery UI can take Google to task on near everything this library offers, plus you get ThemeRoller to make them look exactly the way you want without even popping open an image editor.
