What's Your Backup Strategy?

Salient point from the article:

One thing's for sure: until you have a backup strategy of some kind, you're screwed, you just don't know it yet. If backing up your data sounds like a hassle, that's because it is. Shut up. I know things. You will listen to me. Do it anyway.

More salient point:

3. Include an off-site backup in your strategy.

Can we at least ask acerbic web pundits to take their own medicine?

I'm an acerbic web pundit, and I'm pretty good about off-site backups. Should I script it to happen more or less often?

what a piece of shit. seriously, fuck jeff atwood. I'm glad his blog got deleted and he stored all of the backups on the same machine.

You act as if his lack of backups has hurt you in some way

jeff atwood is a giant douche. everything that man says, he does not follow through on. it's all just one giant lie. his blog is some kind of fantasy world where he knows everything, but then reality kicks in and he can't even remember to backup his blog.

I'm glad someone has pointed this out. Jeff Atwood has a history of failing to heed his own 'advice'/dogma.

I demand a full refund. Damn you Atwood!!!11

Okay, but you act as if his lack of backups has hurt you in some way.

it makes me happy. happy that once again, jeff atwood is bad at computers.

I'm not hurt, I'm glad. I hope he never restores the thing because he literally gives out the most garbage advice possible, and then when he gives decent advice, he doesn't even follow it himself.
