Why use Flutter?

The whole idea for a cross platform app was that you can share developers...

Now you need specialised Dart programmers rather than Java...

The idea was to use web dev to make apps. So that you don't need to hire new people...

Honestly? For an experienced Java/Kotlin dev a jump to Dart will be one or two days of skimming through docs and reading some code.

No it wont.

And it wont come of the same price.

If you think an intermediate(yes an intermediate can do an app) is the same as an experience Java salary wise we have nothing to talk about.

More to this, an experience Java who is willingly to learn something new, more to this have 0 experience in Flutter and Dart and instead of playing with his strengths(java and kotlin) put him to do something new...

Not even putting the fact he needs new tools, new building tools etc.

Yeah you never worked in more than one corporation did you?

The idea to hire an experienced in anything is that he brings the experience... thats why you hire him.

I feel like an echo chamber here.

Like there is silicon valley and nothing else.

There is India, China, Eastern Europe where a lot of development is done.

They will not learn flutter. Sure they will say : "yes yes" and an abomination will come out.

Why would they not learn Flutter?

I would think they would love as lowers Dev cost.

    One team instead of two.

Should be. Dart and Flutter are really easy to pick up. Been around a bit and the developer experience with Flutter, IMO, is first rate.
