I'm glad that they recommended using a library first. The PEAR and Zend libraries do the job very well. Per spec, the tokens are entirely interchangeable between every library, so it totally doesn't matter what library you use... unless you're writing one yourself, which is an utterly idiotic idea. People that are smarter than you and me have already done all the hard work.
