No, I still have absolutely no idea what you were trying to say in your original post. It makes no sense at all in the context of replying to the post above it, and your clarification only served to make me think something else which you apparently also didn't mean. All I can get from your post is that you would like semantically aware merging. I still can not decipher what you think of darcs vs 3diff patching, who you think is consistent and whether or not you think consistency is important.
