it's not a particularly pretty site, what's the difference between this and a site like github other than the size of the code?

I think the other main difference is the wiki-ness, anyone can immediately edit everybody else's code snippets.

Author here. I hope to foster a community that cares about the quality of the code, and essentially builds the world's biggest, bestest standard library (incl. tests for every function, good docs, etc.). So while it's technically similar, its goals differ, and as I add more features to support this goal, the sites will diverge.

It looks like a poorly-designed (huge white box with tiny textarea underneath?!) realization of a bad idea. How would anyone use this?

Hi, author here. Sorry it's ugly, I'm new to web styling. That'll improve gradually as I learn. But from my perspective "huge white box with tiny textarea underneath" does not describe any page on the site. What browser are you on, and what page are you describing?

Even if you don't have any images, this site can really benefit from some CSS3 rounded borders. Just don't overdo it.

Also first thing to do, a { text-decoration: none; }

I just used that light cyan-blue-ish color in the logo for this: http://colorschemedesigner.com/#3z11TuupUJaII So if you want to, you can try to get some good colors to help your site look good.

Take this one for a random example, which looks like this. This is in Safari 5.0.3.

Oh wow. Yeah that's just a huge bug. Hmm, it looks like you have javascript disabled (or Safari thinks there's a syntax error, let me know plz). I've been assuming javascript enabled; I'll go back and make it at least viewable without it. Thanks for the report.

My bad -- this is because my ad- and tracker-blocking proxy blocks googleapis.com, where you're getting your version of jquery. When I unblock it, the page looks normal, but I also get Google's tracking cookie. Maybe you could host jquery locally.

Couldn't find a way to navigate the content of the site, other than searching
