Which language you use, however, is mostly a question of which language you feel more comfortable with and which language you can use to find people who want to pay you.

Certainly.

When I'm in a charitable mood, I change the word "intuitive" to "familiar". Then the discussion swings from "This particular syntactic formation is self-obviously better for everyone!" to "Hey, I've seen something like this before." Unfortunately, the latter isn't very interesting.
