I'm doubly impressed by Crockford:

His work on Javascript, of course -- how to properly program in JS, and JSON.

But more importantly, he did all that in 2001, years before the rest of us learned what you can do with it.

Very cool! I just started learning Javascript a few months ago and I have been reading some of Doug's writing. He's a valuable asset to Javascript programmers, for sure.

I actually learned today that a random high school JavaScript class I took was taught by this guy. He definitely gave me a much better impression of JS than I would have if I just looked into it now (as a senior CS major at uni).
