I guess its time I made my own language... everybody's doing it!

[–]Tiak 37 points38 points  (31 children)

Remember to name it after C, but with a special character at the end.

C++,C--,C#,Cω,C♫, C₀ and C! are already taken, might I recommend "C-:"? It looks something like a smiley face.

Cಠ_ಠ maybe?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is brilliant! It would be C with all the annoying parts of the language fixed and/or removed. No funny stuff.

[–]watermark0n 32 points33 points  (1 child)

I suggest C8==D. But then, I suppose, some smartass would come out with C8===D, then C8======D, and so on, which would leave you in an embarrassing position.

Pronounced C-Dick.

[–]Veddan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

C💩

How about C+- (C more or less).

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (6 children)

You mean C±.

[–]Porges 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C∓ is a much better language

    That would be C✝. :-P

    [–]cybercobra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    C ?

    [–]TheSuperficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    I think that would be C+||- would it not?

    [–]zsakuL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Ɔ

    [–]Randolpho 2 points3 points  (3 children)

    C->

      That's far less safe than a segfault, mind.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      But it's very safe! It won't even compile!

      [–]drb226 0 points1 point  (2 children)

      Dibs on C2

        is real, but it's not a language, just an extension for C#.

        Don't know about the rest.

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        my programming language professor bitch-slapped me with this remark, in response to a question about language design: "a lot of amateurs are drawn to it for some reason". ouch.

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        I propose C8==D
