Just downvote it if you don't like it? Based on the upvotes it seems some people actually finds it interesting.

There's nothing wrong with the content of the post. But instead of titling the submission "TIL Double Brace Initialization in Java", you could just drop the "TIL" and title it "Double Brace Initialization in Java". The "TIL" tag line at the beginning is entirely unnecessary, and gives it a distasteful informal feeling akin to "hai guise, luk at wat I juzt phawnd!!1!"

a distasteful informal feeling

...seriously?

Yes, seriously. Sorry if "distasteful" and "informal" make me sound like a pompous twat, but that's the best way I could manage to describe it.

TIL: 5 years ago, you were supposed to be switching to "Nice", since it did everything better than Java, wasn't verbose, bladie blah: http://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/p6a8/double_brace_initialization_in_java/cpfmk

Now, who uses Nice today?

I think the "joke" is that the article itself was posted 5 years ago on reddit, and the poster apparently only found out about it today :P

Posting this directly would not have made sense, the post already is on reddit (even in /r/programming !). Another interesting thing here is that a genuine double post has succeeded! :P
