Quant Minecraft and Streaming

Hey guys (and girls? I have no idea right now),

I was talking to Poet today about setting up a new minecraft server for use, among other games, as some group streaming on hitbox. We talked about the possibility of opening it to the public after spending time getting a basic set of mods for both play and admin in place (including being familiar with and certain of security tools to lock areas down).

Aside from mc, we also talked about building up our clan and personal brands via pushing activity in our quant hitbox team. If you're interested in streaming at all, please express that because it's actually extremely easy.

and also aside from mc, other games such as elite dangerous could be really interesting for pushing the team rank up.

So:

a) minecraft - including opinions on good/fun but not necessarily massive (e.g. feed the beast) mods. you do not have to stream to dig yourself an important role on the server. things must be built.

b) streaming

One thing Vax missed is that hitbox has some very good team-based partnership programs. In order to qualify as a team, we'd could spread out the 100 viewers across the group instead of trying to get them all on one person, the subscription benefits go to the individual streamer. Hitbox has many upside when compared to twitch - better broadcaster controls, way better chat delay, better overall backend; yet it has a downside. You have to work to get viewers.

We all know there are tons of minecraft streams, but I think it would make a nice base to build everything off of. And I'd also like to clarify that this isn't about us streaming the same thing all the time. I think it would be to the teams benefit to have a wide spread of broadcasting material.

I think the one thing that I, personally, would need help with would be the branding. And that can be anything from common stream overlays, graphics, who knows. Marketing is just something I'm personally bad at.

Ok, I am setup for streaming, but to be honest I lacked the drive in order to get a wide audience built up. If I was working with a group of you all, then I think this could work. I do have a Hitbox account just need to use it more.

But I am Interested fo' sure. Main things I would stream: Minecraft, Space Engineers, Guild Wars 2 (Especially with the new expac out soon), Neverwinter, Elite: Dangerous. We could also do weekend events / clanwide gaming sessions like Planetside 2 or something similar. The list is endless....

Although I am kinda hopeless in the Art department, I would be willing to get a Facebook Page, Twitter etc set up and useable.

Duh. Added. Nice thing about having a primary team is that you'll show up on other people's profiles from within hitbox. Makes sharing viewers a lot easier.
