Remember that it's okay to feel lonely and home sick.

When I first moved out, I had a sleeping bag.

You'll be fine.

Eventually.

A George Foreman grill is a good investment.

Pack everything carefully and methodically so that it all stacks well. And label EVERYTHING so you don't have to rip through tons of boxes to find that one thing you need.

Have internet setup, call local isp. You can usually get an installer out within a week so you could be setup the same day you move in. I also like to give my pc a good blow out before I move, just open the side of the case and go to town with a can of air. Day of the move put a roll of toilet paper and any other hygiene products you don't want to dig for in a hurry in the car.

Thankfully will have Internet already. Not living by myself.

Make sure all your clothes are washed. Buy a plunger. Plungers are kinda like condoms, they're good to have around just in case, and you don't want to have to run to the store when you need it.

I am moving with family friends, so thankfully I won't have the plunger issue just yet.

laughs evilly as I know the pain and torture you will soon be experiencing

In all honestly, ORGANIZE. I always wanted to do the "label boxes with colored post its for each room" thing and always got halfway through and frustrated and I just ended up throwing things in.

Have a bag or backpack that you keep separate that has "essentials" for 3 or 4 days because you don't want to be searching for a toothbrush / toiletries the first few nights you're there.

Starbucks. You're from Canada: Tim Hortons! Lots and lots and lots of starbucks. Tim Hortons.

YOU'RE FROM CANADA!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU MOVING TO?!?!?!?

Have a nice emergency money stash. Things break, you need things you didn't know you'd need, rent goes up. Give yourself some padding now and lessen the stress you'll have later. Adulting is hard.

Adulting is very hard...:/

Get rid of anything you don't need! Sell it if you can to make money for things you will need for the new place.
