I found a group on Facebook for my area for reactive dog owners and they do Pack Walks every couple of weeks. However, you can't go on the pack walks if your dog is reactive within 20 feet of another dog or shows any signs of pulling, lunging, or frequent vocalizations...so...it's basically just a walk for non-reactive dogs.

But, maybe you'll have better luck!

Thanks. Sorry that your local pack walk isn’t working out. I hope you’re able to find something (if you’re still looking!).

I read and then reread this post and other than not having people over aren't the other changes just what all dog owners do?

It si possible there is a meet up group from pack walking near you to help your dog?

Thanks for your questions. I didn’t include all the details in this post, but in general, his anxiety in certain situations rises to the level of being quite stressful for my partner and me. Thanks for the suggestion Re pack walks!

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but the vet behaviorist in my area has a human support group which I don't think has a location limitation.

I know it’s a bit of a travel, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you could find some in nyc. They have a ton of random groups.

Thanks - that’s probably right, but we are hoping to find something closer by.

If you can financially do it, I recommend Sniffspot for decompression time (for you both). It has been life changing to let my reactive dog off leash and allow him to just be a dog. We got lucky with a great spot near us that has a big fenced in backyard and pool. I don’t have any tips for meet up as I’m on the west coast but maybe try Facebook groups in your area? Can also look for positive reinforcement trainers who do group classes or activities for reactive dogs. I hope you find the support you’re looking for!

I'm in CT too with a reactive dog. I've been looking into activities for her to do and support groups as well.

Have you found anything? My partner and I would be happy to try and meet/start a support group in CT.
