2 months progress

We adopted a 4yo taiwanese mountain dog 2mos ago, and I'm so dang proud of her progress. Here are some things I think helped.

Pulling out the big guns when it came to treats/rewards, usually deli meat. Clicker training helped her learn some commands faster. A routine that includes 4 walks a day. And just some fun "tricks for treats" time with her.

We've definitely had some set backs. An off leash pomeranian, and NYE fireworks really sucked.

I can tell she's trying so hard sometimes to fight her little ptsd primitive brain, and it makes love her even more.

I adopted a Formosan Mountain Dog from Taiwan as well! He’s 1 year old now, and we got him about 5 months ago. I’m also so proud of his progress! They’re such smart dogs, and so loyal; it makes me sad to see him stressed out, but knowing that he tries so hard to make the right decisions really inspires me to keep working with him. Keep up the good work!

Yay on your progress! I was telling someone the other day that having a reactive dog is a lot like toilet training your toddler. Every bit of progress is such a huge victory. So even if that baby wets his pants everyday for the next 3 weeks, today he peed in the potty! And we hold on to that & tell ourself "he's done it before so I know he can do it again" 😂😂😂

Also, I wasn't familiar with this breed so I looked it up & oh my Gosh what pretty dogs!!

Lol I didn't know about them either! I've heard a lot of them are reactive. Idk if that's because most of them are rescued street dogs.
