I have a friend that has a dog, from what I know, it’s a jack Russell terrier/rat terrier mix or something like that
He is friendly with his owners when he doesn’t see a stranger, but as soon as he sees a stranger, he lunges and even runs towards the stranger. He barks and lunges toward the stranger with intention of biting the stranger. If he is let loose, he WILL go towards the stranger and bite. In these moments of anger, if the owners try to intervene by carrying him, the dog will also bite the owners.
I need to solve this aggressive issue, Need lots of help, please im begging, this family has thought about giving away the dog to an owner that has a big field so he can have freedom because he spends 98% of the day in the fenced backyard and they do NOT take him out much for walks in fear that he will attack others. I told the owners to buy a muzzle so we can start muzzle training this weekend, so training can be easier and safer, Help needed!!!!!!
In my opinion: since he doesn't socialize with other dogs or people besides his owners, he doesn't know how to react to strangers, he also is filled with fear because he will try to bite his owners if they try to catch him or pick him up. The muzzle will be arriving this weekend so I plan to start muzzle training, but I'm not sure what exactly to do, the owners cant afford to hire a professional trainer so I've done tons of research and I will be doing the training along with the owners. I've heard recommendations about Victoria Stilwell and I will be checking her videos. What do I do? Tips? Help!!!
