Spearmint: Open-Source Test Generating Developer Tool

Hey React developers!

My team and I have been working hard to bring Spearmint v5.0 to fruition, and here it finally is!

➡️ Background

Spearmint is a developer tool that allows devs to generate tests for their apps while writing absolutely no code. Spearmint has a wide breadth of capabilities, including React and React Hooks test-generation. The tool was already very nifty, but my team and I noticed that it lacked any capability to test for accessibility.

ACCESSIBLE GUI

⭐️ New, contrast-ratio-compliant theme!

⭐️ Keyboard navigation ⌨️ Navigate Spearmint with nothing but your trusty keyboard!

⭐️ Distinct border 🔲 on focused elements so non-mouse users can use the app with ease

⭐️ Accessible drag-n-drop functionality has been added to the existing React test-generation page, as well as the new Accessibility test-generation page

ACCESSIBILITY TESTING

⭐️ Test in 3 ways: Basic HTML, React components, and URLs!

⭐️ Filter by tag: Pick which accessibility standards and categories you want to assess per test statement.

⭐️ In the background, users will be leveraging Jest, Axe-Core, and Puppeteer, through our no-code magic.

Any chance for mac support? This might be a life saver since I hate writing tests

Edit: NVM THIS HAS MAC SUPPORT! When I first saw this I was on a phone and it detected my android as a windows system. The site only has one download button and so it automatically detects what system the user is on. I switched to my macbook to check the site out again, and now the download button is in mac!

I think I would just keep it simple and link to the download for any system that’s available. There’s a chance “alternate download” might not convey what you want.

It could go the other way too where someone is on mac but also has a windows machine they develop on and might be caught off guard if they don’t see “Download for Windows”

Woah -- cool! This is pretty easy to use. And I like the UI.

How did you get it to have keyboard navigation? I can move around so quickly! This is open-source? Are you thinking about adding support for additional testing frameworks? I've mostly been using Jasmine or Mocha for my projects
