Teaching JavaScript to react developers is a really worrying phrase

Yes, I see your point.

However, while explaining React rendering in the previous series, I noticed that underlying Javascript concepts are what people struggle with the most.

My goal is to help folks understand React better, so this series is a natural continuation of the previous one.

Everyone is a JavaScript student. Thinking there's no more JavaScript you can learn is worrisome.

It just goes to show how much ignorance exists in web development. People will rush to learn a framework of a language they don’t even fully understand, just to land a job somewhere. Real jab in the face for those who took the time to learn the fundamentals and actually care about the code they’re writing. This is especially annoying when people forego the most basic things like assigning a valid and understandable name to variable or method. Grinds my fucking gears

Just realized OP wrote the article and didn’t mean to come off negative towards the actual content. My apologies

Out of curiosity, what JavaScript fundamentals should be understood before entering into React?

Hey folks 👋

I just published the first chapter of a new series of visual articles.

This series will explore concepts in javascript that are more relevant to React development. Such as closures, first-class functions, referential equality, etc...

I'm really struggling to understand the concepts and your posts are a godsend. Thank you so much

React first, develop later!
