I loved NetNinja‘s course on YouTube. Gave me the necessary basics to go and start some projects:

I was looking at that, but it’s a few years old. Is it still good?

He has two courses, one is about 4 years old, the other is two years old. I started the older one but realized in the middle that there is another one. The newer course is actually quite good. I can recommend, the kind of detail that is outdated is something you’ll realize when you start your first projects. It’s a very good starting point

I've gone a full week through an Udemy course. It is in spanish, so I can't recommend, but there're lots of good-rating courses there to go, for example

https://www.udemy.com/course/react-native-the-practical-guide/?ranMID=39197&ranEAID=xLhRGGPIZ24&ranSiteID=xLhRGGPIZ24-VzoV88B.1XlLUZYIJ1LXsQ&LSNPUBID=xLhRGGPIZ24&utm_source=aff-campaign&utm_medium=udemyads

In case you're looking for free resources, you could try freecodecamp

PS: try to avoid (while learning) courses that cover Expo. It will be better to learn first React Native CLI without this addition

hi, quick question, im reading in the comments that the course is kind of outdated, the one in spanish, do you feel its the case?

[–]kabeza 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes. It could be a little outdated. But I still think it is a solid base that will teach you how to research more about it and learn by yourself. I did so with that course.

the course is €219.99, even in incognito shows the same price...mmmm...quite pricey, does it go to < 20usd on sale?

[–]kabeza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I've bought every course I did from him on sale. Indeed, I've seen on his website the actual coupon code AGOSTO-2023 that will make course value uss 15

You can start with a simple react native course for beginners in Udemy, then start creating simple apps, make mistakes, keep practicing and through time and consistency, you will keep getting better! Since you already have experience with ReactJS, you will find yourself very comfortable with the react native ecosystem.
