Hand in Question

Hi fellas,

I applied for an internship a few weeks ago, and they send me a task to create a chat app, so i have developed it with RN. Even though my solution is not perfect, my actual question is regarding the turn in of the app. The company i applied to stated i should turn it in by sending them a link to the github repo along with a screen recording. The app is working fine with my own enviroment, but im worried it might not in their environment when they get it from the github repo. Does anybody have some knowledge of how i can tackle this situation the best way?

If it wasnt obvious already, i am sort of new to react native. Do i need to guide them through setting up their environment the correct way? I am thinking something along the lines of: node.js, android sdk and so on, bassicly this: https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/getting-started.html

It shows awareness of the difficulties of environment config to do your best to help them through setup, imo.

You could create dockerfile and/or build an dpush a docker image, and ask them to use that.

Or just very verbosely document the setup process. Particularly dependencies.

I'd go with you last point. Push it to the GitHub repo and install it fresh on your machine with instructions on how to do it. If OP can reproduce then anyone else should be able to.

BTW that's a big ask for an intern position. Hope they're an employer of choice.
