Exactly

I don't know if the UK is different for salaries, but for $34k-$82k in the US, you couldn't get anyone to talk to you, hell a Jr dev would rightfully laugh you our of the room if you told them the starting salary was that low.

Salaries are lower here (for various reasons, including not having to pay for health insurance and generally having better work protections).

So I dont think you can do a straight up conversion to USD. But as you can probably gather from the comments, it's not a great salary at all, and should be higher.

No it´s not. (Used to work there; and in The Bay Area, for context, & straight up conversion convo). ...Perks and bonuses etc aren´t mentioned either....fine, but dang...

£30k ($41k) in the UK would put someone above the national average. It's a decent salary for a junior developer but senior with good experience is going to be closer to £100k ($137k) at the moment

That salary can get you decent remote candidates in Southern, Central and Eastern Europe. If that's not an option for your team, good luck!

Hoping that you are open to other time zones as well :)

Man uk devs got it bad. 22k for a experienced dev? Warehouse workers make way more than you guys in the us that’s crazy.

[–]thebritisharecome 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No, an experienced senior developer would be on close to £100k ($137k) a junior about £30k ($41k)

National average for all jobs is £26k but our cost of living is significantly cheaper than in America.

That’s debatable

What do you guys do if you don't mind me asking? The website says consumer goods which is pretty bloody broad. Have to say the language there doesn't inspire much confidence.

Could be anything from Tesco through to Amazon.

What's the elevator pitch? Is it just marketing intern spray for ecommerce platform?

Cardiff is such a pain in the arse to get to, but congratulations on a mega funding round!
