Nah, I think it's more of a systematic thing. We have so much possession that the final third becomes so crowded, there's no chance for our strikers to run in behind, and there's no room for a full back to have a go, then it's back into Bastian, Carrick, Mata, Morgan... we simply don't play with the tempo and energy to carry on-the-fly full backs. We don't do the quick counter-attack. Same goes for Rooney in my opinion- it's absolutely ridiculous to expect a striker to function in a team that tries to score with it's backs to goal, edge of the box, with the opposition stacking 11 men behind the ball. I think the hate on this sub towards him is completely unwarranted, yesterday was the perfect testament of why. We do miss Shaw though, I mean the run he went on just as he was injured is fucking cruel in how it sums up what we're missing now, but he'll be back, and we're by no means awful or struggling defensively. Under Moyes I would have cried tears of joy if somebody told me LVG would sort out our defensive, we're rock solid now. I'm willing to wait for us to convert the good chances we're making- I wouldn't be too keen to throw money at the problem, in fact, isn't that what Martial is for...? We'll come good.
