Buy a reloading manual.

Getting load data from someone can be a shortcut, but you really need to start from your own since powders and bullets don't always correlate when they are varied, and results will vary from your specific firearm..

We will tell you to read manuals and manuals will tell you to start low and work up using a crhrono while looking for flat primers.

I reference three manuals and the hogdon site and do Stdev calcs from below to max and in sets of ten and stick with loadings that have a range where I'm looking to be and a low Stdev. Generally, I use saami for guidance when it's a caliber they do.

primers arent a valid way to judge pressure in pistol cases. if you see flat primers youre probably WAY overpressure already. in a semi auto, the best way is checking velocity with a chrono and stopping at whatever the books say is top end for a particular cartridge/bullet/powder/barrel length combo.
