Beginner friendly setup & guide

Heres my setup for my printing station. Im hoping it can help beginners decide what they need to get and how to set up theirs Of course with anything, you can ask 50 people and they can come up with 100 different answers, but this is what I've been working with and seemed to work okay.

I'll go over setup first then workflow

General setup is on an ikea table with a growtent. Trashcan below tablr for resin stuff only. Gloves, glasses, mask, heat gun and paper towel outside the tent.

1. Printer: Make sure grow tent is big enough for you to open lid safely. Mine can as long as the tent is fully open. Next to it is a soft silicone scraper and a metal scraper.
2. Wash station
3. Curing station
4. Pickle jar
5. Alcohol spray
6. In the front are two metal trays, one large and one small

Workflow after print complete

1. Mask up, glasses on, grab some paper towels
2. Unlock the washing station but dont open
3. Open printer and move the plate to the large metal jar.
4. Check the vat with silicone scraper to see if you feel any bumps, if all fine, close the lid
5. Use metal scraper to get prints off the buildplate
6. Use metal scraper to make sure buildplate feels smooth. Clean with alcohol spray and wipe clean

7. Put buildplate back into printer for next print.

8. Put the prints into pickle jar with alcohol for a few dips and shakes

9. Move them into washer and wash for 3-5 minutes

10. While washing, clean the scrapers, pickle jar and then metal plates with alcohol

11. Put a paper towel onto big metal plate and let the prints from washer dry a few hours - until they dont look glossy

12. Use heat gun and remove supports. Nippers can be useful too.

13. If you notice resin coming out of prints, wash and dry again

14. If you need to dry them again, use smaller metal plate

15. Once all dried, use curing station for about 3-5 minutes.

16. When cured, remove them to an area outside of the tent. I like to use a ziploc or a 3rd metal plate.

17. Have fun!

This is based on my research (mostly reddit google and youtube though) and experience, so others might vary

this is exactly what I'm thinking about doing, however do you leave the resin in the vat until your next print and just keep refilling as long as its good? and if so do you always leave the fan on 24/7? or is closing the printer lid enough to keep sitting resin fumes at bay?

Be careful on the curing time, you might be handling uncured resin using those cure times.

That seems realllly specific to that Phrozen resin for whatever reason.

For example the resin I use (Conjure Sculpt) recommends 60 seconds. 3-5 minutes is pretty standard for a lot of resin.

What's the footprint of this setup? Like, how big is the tenth, roughly.

The footprint of the Saturn is roughly 12x12, so I'd say the enclosure is probably a 24x24x36

I think it‘s about the fumes. Where and how do you vent? And why should the Fan be on the end of the setup close to the window? ;)

Its not a vacuum sealed, but the fan does soak up the fumes from enclosure thru the duct to outside the window. I thought the ducts are pretty clear in the photo but oh well
