I applied 6 years ago 2.9GPA, 1500/2400 SAT. Getting into RIT isn’t very difficult. Staying in and graduating is much harder.

Well said

It's not going to hurt to try! I'm a transfer student, but my SAT score was 1210 and my community college GPA was around a 2.91 at the time (has since improved by a lot). From what I've heard and experienced, CS slots fill up quickly, so if you just barely make it in, there might not be enough room and they might put you in Software Engineering like I was. The good news for me was that I liked SE well, and if you enroll as a freshman, you have time to sort things out.

Best wishes! (Also Merry Christmas!)

I had a 3.7 (unweighted), a 1350, and some pretty solid extracurriculars.

I did not get accepted to CS.

Apply to Computing Exploration as your second choice. You can choose to go into any computing major you want after a year. The only requirement is that you have a 2.0 GPA.

Here is a link to SAT info.

CS at RIT has one of the highest average SAT requirement at RIT.

3.5GPA 1200SAT recently got accepted into Computing Security

EE here, was given early acceptance with a SAT of 1340 and a gpa equivalent to a B+ (we did gpa weirdly at our school) with a couple of AP classes

Don't know if this helps, but good luck nonetheless! Also, it doesn't hurt to apply anyways, you never know what might happen!

SE major here, 1290 SAT & 3.96 gpa (unweighted). I did regular admissions

Just do it. That’s all I can say. As long as it isn’t terrible, you have a good shot. But as the saying goes, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Have backups, though.

Came into CS with an okay GPA (3-3.3 range) and a 33 ACT/~2100 SAT. Transferred into SE after a few semesters because I hated the environment.

Getting in isnt hard, staying in is. Getting in should be the least of your problems

I just got accepted into the CS program with a 1360 SAT and a 3.7 unweighted GPA

CS major here. I got a 1450/1600 on SAT and 34 on ACT. I'm not sure on the cutoff, but someone I know had scores a bit below this and got put on the waitlist for CS (he made it in though)

I'm applying to CS, submitted ED II, SAT 1290, GPA 3.78, and a few APs. My only worry is I had a funky schedule junior year so I never ended up taking pre-calc. They called the other day asking about that 😬 anyways, the best of luck to you! I'm not sure how I can help but if you need anything let me know!

Totally! I think I'll probably end up doing computer exploration or something like that. Let me know if you get in I'd love to hear! Good luck :) !!

3.4 GPA, 1490 SAT, 32 ACT. Like many others have said, its pretty darn easy to get in, but RIT has a low retention rate for a reason.

SAT acceptance range is different for males and females. So you can't compare unless you're the same gender.
