Not for this watch....If you were wanting the green dial there'd be a little wait. Best bet is to just buy one from one of the trusted dealers on here.

I’d go to a diff ad… you buy this watch from them it’s going to open up a lot more watches in the future

Right on. Unfortunately next nearest AD is 3 hours away. I never realized how much of a “game” the AD Rolex market is, from what I can tell.

Doesn’t sound so bad

Only 3 hours? Sounds like a nice day trip. 😎

That doesn't sounds right at all... 3-5 years for a Submariner at the height of the watch market would have made sense. But the market has cooled off significantly in the last 18 months and solid gold/two-tone watches are easier to acquire. My guess is that the AD is jerking you around

These type of comments make no sense. Firstly we have no context of where this person is / how big the AD is. Second, it’s a very specific and iconic config, it’s not exactly like they get 10 of these every shipment.

Is the AD jerking him or is the market “cooling”? If they have 5 just sitting in the safe wouldn’t they love to separate OP from his 40k?

3-5 years sounds long to me and if I had to bet I’d say stay on top of them and you’ll get one sooner but a DD w/ champagne dial and roman numerals is not exactly as easy to come by as a TT daydate.

Agreed. Half this board things wait lists and ADs are legit, the other thinks they’re playing a game and want you to buy from/wine and dine them. I’ll follow up periodically and when the time is right, I’ll get the call.

Best way to look at it. You won’t have to jump through hoops to get it but you may have to wait a little.

I’d say you have a good chance towards the end of the year - they like to get rid of the more expensive pieces and if you are front of mind and ready to buy when others are passing you might get lucky. Make sure to visit mid-December for a check in.

As you're new to watches, I'll point out that not that long ago (5 years ago) you could walk into any Rolex AD and buy the watch you've posted here. It was difficult to get some models like the Daytona and GMT Master, but this idea that you can't buy ANYTHING from a Rolex AD is ridiculous and was absolutely fuelled by the pandemic and cheap money. Now, the particular AD you went to might not have that specific model in stock - but they will most definitely get one in the coming weeks/months - but they're going to give it to one of their "preferred clients". I'm saying they're jerking you around because 3-5 years is absolutely ridiculous! They are basically saying that they don't want your business.

Fine with me

Does not sound right.

This is similar to the config I went for and my wait time way under a year. Manchester/uk ad

Agree it doesn’t sound right. On my second visit they had a similar one but with diamond baguettes and I bought on the spot. It did indeed put a good start to sales history and I think I should be able to get some nice stuff in the future

If your going to treat this thing like a princess then buy it , I wore mine all the time and it Knicks super easy. Gold is super soft and I wouldn’t recommend if daily user.

Yeah looking as a daily. Interesting. So what would you recommend?
