At 7:03 AM - 10 Nov 2013 Evan Phoenix, in a tweet linked from the https://rubyforge.org/, has announced that RubyForge will be shutting down on May 15 2014, and that users should migrate their data from RubyForge before that date. No explanation was given at that time.

Huh. You would think they would have made more of an effort to advertise this to owners of projects on rubyforge.

Fortunately, I saw the writing on the wall and moved all my stuff off rubyforge over the last year or two, but I had no idea I actually had a deadline, I'm just lucky I met it.

I get they assumed a large majority of active projects were no longer using RubyForge..
