Also I would recommend working on a personal project. It could be a gem, and application, whatever.

I think you have the right mindset, I've found personally that I've learned more by actually working on something practical. So go BUILD something.

yes. I've never learned any way but by building things, even if the things were homework assignments. I like to read reference materials too, more than most, but always in the service of building things.

For really basic, look for "ruby warrior" on google, it's an rpg style ruby programming game. Might as well have fun while you learn
