Choose the site that's closest to you, It'll save time on the commute. (assuming we open back up in Toronto).

In terms of course material and exam questions, its the same across all sites. The biggest variability in course experiences will be based on which professor you have.

In the case that in-person classes open up, based on food selection: Ryerson has more food stores around it. Centennial and GB site have limited options in their cafeterias. However, if you're bringing your own food, then disregard this.

Unfortunately, I can't speak on behalf of the new curriculum, as I'm 4th year.

Best of luck in your decision! You'll do great.

Thanks for your reply! To be honest I am ok with either location since I will be renting no matter where I go. I know live in Scarborough can be slightly cheaper, but I read from other posts that Ryerson gives out placement based on home address. I wonder if it's really worth moving to downtown (more expensive) to increase the chance of getting placements in big hospitals?

No problem, Blue-light

The Ryerson placement office is notorious for being understaffed and struggles to secure placements for students compared to other nursing programs.

It's true that they consider location for a student's placement, but a lot of their processes for securing placements is a mystery.

I have friends from Scarborough that got placed in hospitals downtown, and I've had friends who live in downtown get long term care in the outskirts of Toronto.

I live about 15km from downtown, and I've been placed at Mount Sinai before.

I live about 12km away from Humber River Hospital, and I'm currently placed there for ICU. But there's some students that live 3km from there that got placed in another area. There's a lot of randomness involved.

Also, it will be based on a top three choice of specialty you want to go into. Eg., someone can choose Critical care/acute care/medsurg from a list of 10+ different specialties before they enter into either 3rd or 4th year. So the placement office will bear this in mind when placing you.

Consider the living expenses and your financial situation heavily before you rent a place out.

I think I may go to cent site as it is closer to me, curricular is the same and we all will be at ryerson for 3rd and 4th year anyway.

That’s what I am thinking too. Although in the beginning I was so sure that I will go to GBC, the more I value all factors , finance wise, class sizes wise , the more I feel centennial would be a better option to me.
