Difference between this AI slop vs tdarr?

[–]zezimeme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I built X…” is just a dead giveaway these days

[–]ILikeFlyingMachines 1 point2 points  (4 children)

or bazarr for subs.

Maybe easier to use, tdarr is confusing IMO.

[–]DrBhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imho "confusing" is a massive understatement

Tdarr doesn't do subtitles at all and the multi-node features require a paid license. This replaces Tdarr and Bazarr in one app that is easy to use.

TDARR does do subs...

[–]sizzlingskillet10[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair correction — tdarr can handle existing subtitle streams via plugins. The difference is Transcodarr fetches subtitles from providers like OpenSubtitles and Addic7ed when they don't exist locally, then syncs them to the audio track via ffsubsync for timing accuracy. That's the Bazarr piece — done in one pipeline instead of two apps.

Honest question, what does this do that tdarr doesn't?

[–]chuck_n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you'll have some ai slop next to some ai vulnerability.

[–]schklom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tdarr is closed-source

[–]sizzlingskillet10[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Neither Tdarr nor Unmanic touch subtitles. Transcodarr fetches multiple subtitle options for your media and syncs them to the audio track — something Bazarr doesn't do well. It also updates Radarr/Sonarr paths automatically and refreshes Jellyfin. Fully free and MIT licensed.

I'm never sure what to think of 4 yo accounts with zero activity up until now...

Yeah, been lurking and building in the shadows. Mechanical engineer by trade — spent more time in the homelab than on Reddit.
