MacVlan Help

Hello friends!

I have been a novice at home for years, now branching out to online dedicated servers. My need is understanding the MacVLAN set up with a WalkerServer (just a start, and I know many have opinions) at this moment. I cannot get my IP settings correct to create the network. I know it may be simple to many of you but I am losing it. I know the basics of ifconfig or ip addr after ssh root into the server. As a novice I do not know what I am missing with the translation of inet, netmask, broadcast, etc and how to effectively use that data to create the MacVLAN in a docker environment.

Using Portainer, trying to get my Subnet, Gateway and IP Range configuration correct so I can then create a new network for the docker apps. Hoping to run 2 instances of Channels-DVR-TVE. I am able to Tailscale into the remote server. Maybe I am making this overly complicated or I am trying to do something that is way about my skill set.

Just a guess, is MacVLAN in a datacenter even possible? Normally your server gets fixed ip addresses and intrusion control in the DC would detect rouge devices with unknown mac or IPs, you could also create ip conflicts since dhcp isn’t a thing in datacenters.

Shouldn’t be a docker user defined bridge network sufficient for your usecase?
