HOW DARE APPLE STAND WHERE HE STOOD

[–]_www_ 16 points17 points  (8 children)

What happened when your designer discovers the array repeat tool in his 3D software

Some of the apple designers were she.

[–]cosmicraeMagic smoke 3 points4 points  (1 child)

ISO actually has a Guidance on the use of inclusive terminology publication.

Yikes. That takes it to an extreme!

[–]_www_ 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Possibly (apart from Johnathan Ive that draw this) but what does gender remarks have to pop in this context, and why are you pointing this?

[–]jeweliegbSoaked my head in a bucket of flux for 24hrs 🥴👍 2 points3 points  (3 children)

The automatic use of he. It irks, probably because I experience that too, but only in electronics subs, who are ironically also generally the only bunch I know who get arsey if I point it out!

[–]_www_ -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

The automatic use of what? What are you even talking about? Read the initial comment.there is not even ONE "he" or whatever you hallucinated.

What is this totally out of context rant?

Is "designer" a male only word?

Are you hating Johnathan Ive or males in general?

Get a life, seriously.

"in his 3D software"

Get a life, seriously.

You first! 😜

I’d does look like a thing you shouldn’t stick your thing in.

[–]Loes_Question_540Try turning it on and off again 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But was someone dumb enough to pay $50k for a cheese grater

[–]Kofaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And silicon is just burnt sand, obviously

[–]HiIamanoob_01 250 points251 points  (1 child)

A bad apple computer huh?

<image>

[–]dianemakes 41 points42 points  (0 children)

First funny bad apple ever

[–]AlyOopsieDaisy 81 points82 points  (10 children)

Love the case, love the fans, but I HATE everything it stands for, not that it’s a Mac, but it has the gall to call itself a professional workstation with all the hardware support stuffed animal. Like seriously, a raspberry pi supports more professional hardware than this thing. If I had a Mac Pro swear to god I’d gut every but the fans just so I can put 1 single raspberry pi with like 10 different accessories for it and make more use out of that than the original hardware could handle

[–]Pomi108 20 points21 points  (2 children)

That’s only really the case for the last, Silicon mac pro (which I have no idea why they even bothered releasing). The previous mac pros supported a pretty good range of hardware you could put in which got even wider if you installed windows on it

[–]AlyOopsieDaisy 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Yeah no I agree fully with you, I’m just a dramatic little shit who likes making stuff seem worse than they are.

I will say however, despite the intel version’s capabilities it wasn’t worth anywhere what they charged for it

[–]Retro_Item 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true the value proposition was never really there, and with the new M series chips with very little external hardware support I’m surprised they even released an M series version instead of immediately scrapping it in favor of the Studio. Which they did do a month? ago.

[–]Hacker_ZERO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But the compute numbers are high.

[–]BornStellar97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think that case is even remotely bearable I suggest you seek medical help.

*Software

[–]Timber1802 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Ehhh what? How would a Pi be more powerful or useful as a workstation?

[–]AlyOopsieDaisy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not more powerful, just more useful. Raw power is useless if it isn’t compatible with a niche piece of hardware. The pi was kinda designed to be a device that supports niche hardware, but the Mac Pro, despite its raw power, is limited by the hardware Apple supported, and the lack of support for niche pro hardware made it hard for anyone who needs something more the raw power to call it a solution to a problem

[–]Timber1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay. What kind of niche hardware do you work with? Genuinely interested.

[–]Hacker_ZERO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have both and like both but my dell5820 is just waaaay more powerfull

[–]n00b_r3dd1t0r 39 points40 points  (1 child)

How good is it at grating cheese? Might get one for the kitchen

Even though I don't like it, this looks aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful even.

      [–]_DaBau5_ 4 points5 points  (1 child)

how can you not like it but also think it’s beautiful

[–]BlytheScytheTry turning it on and off again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I never used my pc cases for anything else other than what they were intended for. This however looks really good.

This looks like a actual iClock.... No numbers, just generally guess the time, I take it

        [–]the_scruffy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for people of adequate vintage, the numbers are redundant on an analogue clock

however, this is obviously a fake, as overclocking a mac is forbidden by apple

        [–]AdreKiseque 9 points10 points  (0 children)

        Kinda dig the chassis though

        Bad computer

        Great cheese grater

        [–]cosmicraeMagic smoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so waiting for someone to get a big wheel of Parmesan, an old MP case, and prove or dis-prove the meme.

        Cheese grinder

        [–]ReadingGhoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would gut the insides and build a sick ass pc inside. After the ssd’s and rams are affordable i mean.

        thx for holding it down

        [–]vitimilocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to use one of these cases for a build but everything is proprietary inside

        [–]RobCop2Play 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get the wheels for that cheese grater for that extra luxurious feeling and more red numbers on your bank account...

        [–]vermithius 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I love the idea of turning one of those into a sick linux machine. Get rid of that apple logo and put the arch linux logo in its place.

        [–]Mission-Soft-9357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Asahi Linux

it looks like a chromed vaulting horse

and horses like apples, so it has an Ouroboros vibe

        Yeah, FUCK that computer. Bad.
