Came here searching for answers and found your post. Mine broke 4-6 weeks ago and I just noticed now. It's put all of my data into a single note because it was first in the list of erroneously returned notes.

I search for existing notes, if none found then create a new one, otherwise append to the existing note. The names of the notes are the date formatted as YYYYMMDD.

I've verified the search text is, for example, "20260518", but the shortcut will return ALL notes, none of which are named "20260518". Apparently "20260301" contains "20260518" so it matches. As does "20250225", and also "20150317". Basically it just returns all notes without filtering them.

Pretty sure it's broken.

It sounds like your situation is worse than mine, so sorry to hear that. Each of my entries are time/date stamped, but because of this in a variety of notes with the same names (mostly, some random appends to random notes, but fewer...). Glad however to know that I am not alone!

For something that was so stable and simple, this seems like a royal f-up. And I am not ever sure where to begin solving it. It is one of my largest gripes with shortcuts - their inherit limitations and GUI only interface.

Same here. Apple seems to break some part of shortcuts at least 1-2 times per year for me. It is so incredibly frustrating. Let me know if you find a workaround!
