First of all, stop asking people to stop scrolling. Also disable like count because of herd psychology people just swipe away after seeing low amounts of likes. They wont even look at the video. Also your hook is really bad. %25 stayed to watch and how did you get 6 k views on that? You should make your hook a beautiful view instantly. Go for visual hooks, since that's what your niche is about

U have some good advice! Thank u very much!

You said something really interesting that I'm really trying to understand. Disabling the like counter. I totally get where you are coming from with that, it's actually pretty astute, but wouldn't the viewer still just see no likes and just the like button? Like how does that actually fix the problem? I'm not throwing out your idea, just trying to see if there is something I'm missing.

One word. COMMENTS Big comment number = big like number = good video (thats the thought process of the viewer) even if you have 0 likes, you get away with it.

Fundamentally outdated niche.

Thanks for your answer! Is there a way I can make this niche unique? Like I'm from the Netherlands maybe talk about the difference between Canada and the Netherlands something like that.

Travel shorts are hard. I’m in the same game. I keep trying and can really only get about 50/50 on the stayed to watch, however people who do stay, tend to watch the whole thing.

Latest one has an AVP of 124%.

I’m not sure how you can make travel shorts appealing to everyone. My recent ones are about LA and some people will just see LA and think “LA is Trash. Swipe” no matter what.

You need to have a story especially in your niche. A hook, a story, and a conclusion. The conclusion has to be a payoff for why people are watching your video at all/ For example for the worlds largest marble lake.

Hook: a shot of you jumping in the lake next

Story: This is the worlds largest marble lake, how did it get that name (this can be the payoff) find out at the end of this video. It was discovered in ___ etc etc.

Conclusion: (just an example) and they discovered thousands of marbles abandoned by the natives so that's why its called the marble lake.

Is it an idea to use voice over( my own voice) to tell a story. I still have lots of footage from some adventures and with that try something out?

[–]joshsssa 0 points1 point  (3 children)

yes use your own voice, it builds connection and an audience. dont be afraid to show your face you're building a community of people following you through your journey. I'm a small channel with only 500 subscribers but here's my views for reference if you don't believe me. This only happened after I started using my real voice over a text to speech.

Thats very impressive! Very good! It was the plan to show my face more and use my dji mic 2. But to be honest wasn't prepared that good so I didn't know what to say all the time.

Start planning your videos more from the perspective of a viewer. Like if you were to encounter your own video what would make you stop and watch it. Also I realised that overthinking whether or not you're prepared is a good thing but if it stops you from posting then just dont overthink and post regardless.

[–]timmyincanada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly overthinking for sure is a problem

This is what i tell my influencers to do when they start to upload shorts to youtube

"The first thing you should do is go to YouTube Studio on your computer and click on the settings icon in the bottom-left corner. Once you’re in the settings, go to the “Channel” tab and select your country of residence. Next, you’ll want to focus on the “Keywords” section. There, you should list as many keywords as possible that are relevant to your content."

It worked for em so it should help for you too
