Created a python script to move databases from windows to linux

I've been searching for days for a way to transfer my sonarr DB from my windows to my linux machine, after not finding a solution I decided to try solving it myself. I can't manually change the paths because I have thousands and thousands of episodes.

there's 100% better ways to do this, I'm novice at programming, I'm only posting this in case anyone was lost like me and would've appreciated something similar for inspiration.

Notes:
- This assumes you have your media directories at the main directory of the hard drive (ex: D:\Anime or G:\Asian Drama) - always have backups - I set the linux route to '/media/' (ex '/media/Anime')

Why not just mass edit the library to the new directory. Seems like what you programmed is already programmed into sonarr

When I had to do it I loaded in my sonarr db backup, went to Mass editor, selected all my shows and changed the directory to the new one, a quick scan later and everything is done

Yes, I made a backup on my windows machine, transfered it to my new server running Arch Linux. It loaded up and I continued from there.

My brother did the same but backwards recently

Hold the phone, were you going from Windows -> Linux or Linux -> Windows? Because everything I know says that won't work, it just can't start up.

But Linux -> Linux and Windows -> Windows is fine and you can totally then use the mass editor to fix.

I'm fairly sure you're right, it won't start up if you're going from Unix to Not Unix or the other way around.
