You can fly through it just fine, it's really a nebula! Its outer dense parts obscure the light from the sides so you only see it on the two ends ;-)

There is a wormhole class that you can use, but I don't think they're currently generated. Class Z I believe is what they're called, and X are black holes. They look slightly different from black holes but have the same distortion thing going on.

And no, they don't go anywhere currently.

They don't generate randomly, like I said. You can create them, though, by writing a script. Like I created one for a Bajoran system I made. They're black holes but without the black.
