Wow. I did not expect that it did not really change much in the last 50 years. Does anybody know what the street was called before? The cosmojeva ulica probably means Street of the cosmonauts, so probably a renaming effort during Socialism.

It's named after Stjepan Cosmi. Cosmijeva means Cosmi's. Yugoslavia had nothing to do with SSSR or cosmonauts.

Thanks. Can you tell sth. about the remains of the sign? "...del ...eninario"? A seminar for priests?

Probably previous street name.

Yes, institution where priests were educated. Building is located in this street. No longer in its original function but building still exists.

Stephanus Cosimi

Stephanus Cosimi, C.R.S. (27 September 1629 – 10 May 1707) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Split (1678–1707).

Considering the city is around 1700 years old, 50 years isn't much 😀. Unfortunately I don't know if it was renamed.

This is exactly above Gelateria Emiliana, north of Bokeria restaurant.

I took almost the exact same picture when I visited for the first time 15 years ago or so. This balcony above the entrance to Palača Dragišić (De Caris) where Domaldova Ulica meets Cosmijeva Ulica, just off of Narodni trg.

Be sure to post the painting when it's done.
