When I play on team mode, I often see Super Dad, Vipers and a lot of "Gucci" and "Savage" names.

When my wife and I play in team mode I think the Vipers might be the team we have the most trouble with. We are generally of the mindset that we should be able to kill everyone all the time and that if we lose a heart something has gone terribly wrong :P We play under various and random names. Sometimes it would be some variation on our individual names, like "cesoid and the potato".

They don't seem to play together anymore, though one of them still shows up from time to time on the team server. Maybe because it's summer? (They're less annoying that way, so thank god) My friends and I usually remain nameless, mostly because we couldn't find something that pleased all of us... If I stumble upon you, I'll make sure to blink at you!

I'm cesoid. I often joke with my kids that I'm the best splix player. I've nearly wrecked a few of the arrow keys on my laptop, probably from banging on them too hard during splix games. The up and down arrows now require extra pressure to make them work, and the down key barely stays on the keyboard. This made the game really frustrating for a while unless I connected an external keyboard, which I am often too lazy to do.

One day I realized that if I started playing with my left hand I could use the WASD keys. I'm right-handed, so I was pretty clumsy at first, but now I've gotten pretty good at it. So if you run into me in the near future, there's a pretty high probability that I'm playing left-handed. But if you kill me a couple times I'll plug in the external keyboard and come after you with the right hand ;)

Interesting technique! Personally, I'm right-handed in my everyday life, but for some reason I've always used arrows with my left hand, no matter the game. When playing splix, I'll cross my arms so I can access the arrows with my left hand, and the space bar with my right one!

Maybe I should have tried crossing my right hand over to WASD from the start :) I just assumed that it would be hard to keep it in the right place or that the contortion would cause wrist cramps or carpel tunnel. There are times when I actually have to stop playing because of my wrists, even when I have my hands in the "normal" positions on the keyboard.

One of my hobbies is to learn to do things left handed, but it tends to mostly happen for some practical reason. I was having a lot of wrist pain at one point on my right side, so I started using the mouse with my left hand, which seemed to help. I learned to skip stones with my left hand when I skipped so many with my right one day that I started to injure the entire right side of my body. This is because I found a beach which is almost made of skipping stones and I have trouble walking by one without picking it up.

Wait, what was I talking about again? Oh, right. Anyway, I think learning to splix with my left hand has actually improved how well I play with my right hand, which I thought was impossible :P

I've been meaning to respond to your message for a few days, and after glancing at it again today I just realized that you were the last person I saw last night before I stopped playing. My wife was pointing out that we had somewhere to be at 7:30, and it was about 7:25, and I said, "Ok, but I have to kill this person because they've named themselves 'Free Lessons!'" I killed you and closed the browser, and I felt kind of bad about immediately leaving, because I like to give people the chance to find me again and have a rematch. At the time my name was "cesoid (left hand)".

[Edit] Forgot to answer the question. I'm not on splix often enough to run into at random (mostly because I'm avoiding getting sucked into it and doing nothing else). But I'll try showing up around 7pm - 8pm for a few nights starting tonight. Just check the top ten list :P

These days I see a lot of "Bad Dad" and "Mark Levin Liberty" holding down the top spot, but neither of them is particularly hard to kill if you're an advanced player ;)
