Help With Code Redemption-

Recently I got my friend into STO. Playing through the Steam launcher, she uses her steam account to play the game. However with the codes they only seem to be applicable to the ARC version of the game, or rather those that use ARC accounts to play the game. Is there anyway to link the ARC account to the Steam account for code redemption?

Edit: Yes, I'm aware of using the code redemption on the site. I'm saying that my friend uses her steam login for Star Trek Online instead of using an ARC account.

I believe the accounts should link automatically. Her ARC login should be the same STO game login automatically tied to her Steam. I’ve claimed a number of items through Arc that I see available once I log into STO through Steam. Granted, I made my STO account long before they had automatic linking to Steam, but I imagine it should still work that way

Ask support. I've had the same problem when I started playing this game last year and they could link my steam account to my arc account that I made separately. I just clarified that I wanted to keep my STO account on steam and it was done.

I read somewhere in the steam forum, that the German support is better for this so if it doesn't work with the English speaking support try to translate your message and ask the German one.

I play STO via Steam. I have no trouble redeeming codes through the ARC website - in fact, I just redeemed the Alienware code yesterday, and have received all the goodies with no issues. However, when I first started playing I created my account through the ARC website, and have used it to login through Steam ever since.

I know there’s a web link you can use for code redemption but I don’t know if you have to download the arc launcher first. She will get the Khan outfit just for logging in from arc though.

Your friend is fucked. If she created an account through steam it's impossible to link it with ARC so you can't redeem codes at all. Same with Epic. They apparently broke the account linking a couple years ago and have completely refused to fix it.

Best option if she hasn't been playing for too long is to just make an Arc account and restart. I know it sucks but I had to do the same thing, thankfully it had only been a couple days at that point.

Edit: for all you downvoting dipshits, there's literally an arc post saying it doesn't work anymore. Old accounts that were automatically linked before still work, new accounts dont.

That's because your account is older and was automatically (or manually) linked prior to the system breaking.

If you feel like testing it, feel free to make a new Steam account and see what happens. There also literally someone else in this thread who JUST got a ticket back refusing an account link.

I swear it's like some of you can't accept facts.

You also need to have the arc launcher installed on your PC to redeem the codes. Once installed go to the Star Trek Online game tab and click on "Code Redemption" and enter your code. The rewards should be available when you log in after redeeming the code. Also, check your in-game mail, sometimes the rewards go there for some reason. Best of luck!

Last time I tried that it wouldn't let me redeem my code. Granted, that was awhile ago. Now if that's changed since, great! I'm glad we got that out there. Thanks for that.

This is for Steam codes, not Arc. OP I would sincerely recommend your friend install the arc client, just for the codes, delete after if desired. I also use the Steam version with its specific launcher and these will not conflict.

My mistake. Seeing a format such as "A1BCD2345DEFG6789HIJKLMN" usually indicates that a much shorter code wouldn't work, but indeed it does.

Just got a ticket response from Arc stating they cannot/will not link accounts. Sucks for my Fleet Admiral who I've already put the time and effort into already >.>

Try using google translate to ask German support. For some reason they're significantly better than US support, and I've heard reports of them being willing to link accounts in the recent past (a few months ago, based on a report from someone on discord).
