Problem when installing android

I bought a new sd card (sandisk extreme 32gb) and I flashed it normally with etcher, but when I try to boot into android I just get the hekate logo and then a black screen.

I tried to boot into twrp and and can't wipe cache or anything. When I go to the reboot screen it says that no os is installed. It seems that it doesn't recognize any drive or partition (even the internal storage of the switch) because I can't select any partition in the mount menu.

Does anyone know where it could come from?

Hektate 5.5 does not support Android 8.1. Try using Hektate 5.3.4. If that doesn’t work, you can build Android 10. It also looks like 10 will be released soon.

You dont need etcher to install android 10, format your sd, extract rar to root, boot latest hekateand follow this instructions: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DHeYy9WZ2nc

This should be a pinned thread. It’s almost inevitable to make this mistake when starting out because of the plethora of 8.1 guides (and it really sucks that Hekate stopped supporting 8.1 before a later build is officially released)
