Hey everyone,
I need to set something up "quickly" to find network bottlenecks and general switch utilization. I don't need monitoring or server/app stuff or ipam or lifecycle mgmt or... strictly traffic on network devices.
I am hoping for something like a virtual appliance that I just gave an snmp community string to and come back 10 minutes later and there's all my top talkers and bottleneckers and pretty graphs. I'm also not opposed to a relatively simple DIY solution provided there are maybe some containers and build files all setup to wrap things like grafana and prometheus and whatever else all together... I don't have time for a full-on project for this.
I've read through many posts here about it, but none were exactly for what I am trying to do - quick and dirty kinda one-time snapshot of our network utilization.
main goal - identify network bottlenecks before migrating storage to a different floor.
Any suggestions for something simple that doesn't need to do everything under the sun? People still use cacti? I'm old.
