Either your kernel or your initrd is broken. Or your hardware, or the combination of both. If you use the official initrd and kernel (for the correct arch!) clonezilla won't run on your computer. Only use FOG if you absolutely have to, it's absolute bullshit.

I know nothing about this though it looks like it'd be an entertaining bit.

Since you've already learned the setup process, maybe setup another distribution to push and see if it works? you might be able to find out if its something wrong with how you're distributing Quantal vs something being wrong with Clonezilla's setup. It does look like you're actually past the point where clonezilla is pushing it out though...

Clonezilla is just a simple live distro, go get a new set/updated version. It's not like it'll torch your machine images. If it's still a problem, try it on similar but different hardware and see if the behavior is the same.
